My favorite fashion accessory has to be my wedding ring.  I grew up poor, and when I married my first husband, he said we couldn't afford even a small one (we borrowed my mother's for the ceremony).

I guess it was a sign, because a few months later, we could afford to get him a new truck, but not a ring, still.  Later, we divorced.

When my current husband and I were looking for rings, he tried to get me to get the biggest one they had, but, we couldn't afford it.  With 4 kids between us, (and we are approaching presbyopia, if you know what I mean.) it really was hard to make ends meet.  But to his credit, he said he would work overtime at his regular job, extra hours at his dad's ranch, and wait to get his ring to buy it for me.

I didn't get the biggest one (I thought it was gaudy), but was happy with a beautiful white gold band with 3 small diamonds, inset.

No, it wasn't the most expensive, but because he was willing to make that sacrafice for me, I'll treasure it always.  By the way, I made sure he got his that day, too.
